What’s the weather like in Palm Cove in our European or North American winter?
Our summer is always warm with an average maximum of 32C and minimum 22C. It is our wet monsoon season so we would expect to get some rain but it is warm. The rainforest and waterfalls are in full bloom which ensures that the rainforest can be visited in all its glory. The waterfalls always put on a better display during these months and the sea temperatures are usually around 28C making snorkelling and diving on the Great Barrier Reef perfect.
Will we need to bring towels with us?
We provide bath and hand towels which are changed daily and we have pool/beach towels readily available free of charge.
Can we hire a car with you for our stay in North Queensland?
Yes; the Tour Desk on the premises has a wide selection of vehicles at competitive rates.
How can we get to Paradise on The Beach from the Cairns airport?
We can organise airport transfer from the airport to Paradise On The Beach, a pleasant 25 minute ride. Please enquire about current charges. You may prefer to hire your own car or a taxi. These facilities are available at Cairns Airport.
What is the best way for us to get to Paradise On The Beach; should we get a taxi?
A taxi will cost you about AU$60.00 but at about AU$18.00 per head, we can arrange for you to be met at the airport and brought directly to Paradise On The Beach.
Will I need to bring any warm clothes with me when I visit you in January?
Leave those winter woollies at home. Day time temperatures will be around 32C and night time about 22C. Don’t forget to bring your swimming costume though!
Are there good restaurants in Palm Cove?
We have some excellent restaurants within a couple minutes walk of our front door. Many of our restaurants have won numerous national and international culinary awards.Finding good fare is not a problem while you are staying at Paradise On The Beach.
Are breakfasts available?
There are a number of local cafes/restaurants that serve a variety of breakfast dishes.
We are planning on visiting the Reef and Rainforest whilst we are staying with you, how can we book these trips?
The Tour Desk staff are experienced with all the tours so you may prefer to wait until you arrive and they can discuss with you what you want to do and go through the various options.
Is it possible to visit Cairns for a day whilst we are staying with you in Palm Cove?
Yes, there are regular bus departures into Cairns City from Palm Cove.
Is it possible to swim during your summer months, we have heard that there is a jellyfish problem?
Between November and May, marine stingers can be present in coastal waters and it is not advisable to swim along the shoreline but there is a netted area diagonally opposite Paradise On The Beach that is patrolled by lifeguards.
My husband and I will be spending 2 weeks with you in November, I am wanting to catch up on some sunbathing but he wants to play some golf. Will we be able to mix the two?
With our recent award of “Australia’s Cleanest Beach” you can laze under the palm trees on the beach or around our swimming pool whilst your husband tries his swing at one of the local golf courses. Novotel Golf Course is just a 5 minute walk away and the award winning Paradise Palms golf course is just 5 minutes drive.
When is the best time to stay at Paradise On The Beach?
Every month of the year has its benefits. July to October is our winter with temperatures 25C during the day and 17C at night-time. November to June is our summer with temperatures between 34C and 22C.
As we are staying at Paradise On The Beach Palm Cove and not in Cairns, which tours can we do?
All the tour companies pick up from our front door so any tour available in Tropical North Queensland is available from Paradise On The Beach. The Tour Desk can help you with your tours when you arrive, advising which ones would be best suited to your circumstances.
